TooLock
Sick of missing or poorly sorted drill bits, broken blades, and general misuse of the Robotics Club machine shop, I began working on a way to impose accountability on new members (and the senior members who were allowing inexperienced members to use tools without supervision). The solution is Toolock, a card swipe system for access to the machine tools in the shop. The project eventually became a collaboration with Aaron Solochek, who designed the Locktron (the card reader system for the Robotics Club's door), and Aaron Johnson, who helped tie TooLock and Locktron together with a common database, to become Tooltron.№ 39/58
