Pretty Segments
This project is yet another excuse to play with display technologies. Standard seven segment displays have always struck me as a particularly ugly way to draw Arabic numerals, but I recognize that the simplification is cost-effective. I designed and built this clock over the month of December, after spending some time thinking about how to adapt "old-style" figures to segments. I ended up with eleven; while I'm still not happy with the "8," I think this is a good compromise between complexity and legibility.№ 17/58
